Horse-Angels Permanent Residents

These horses are now permanent residents of Horse-Angels Ranch due to their on-going medical needs, which can be administered here under the watchful eyes of Sue Whitman, DVM.  These horses require not only a great deal of care, but a great deal of medical supplies.  Please consider donating to support these wonderful souls!  Click here to donate.

Buster arrived in September 2007. He is a 31 year old Arabian that lived a pampered life until he was left at a boarding facility in a different state than where his owners lived. With no supervision, Buster declined, and was nearly dead when he arrived at Horse-Angels. Buster has gained weight nicely and is looking beautiful after only 4 months at Horse-Angels!

Cherokee
Cherokee

Cherokee has lived at Horse-Angels for 3 years.  She is 35 years old, and is blind and has arthritis.  She arrived blind, starved, and bitten/kicked by other horses after a kind person removed her from a slaughter house paddock where she was crowded in with strange horses and had no idea where to look for food or water.  She is now very happy and safe at Horse-Angels, where she is groomed, walked outside regularly, receives supplements for her joints, and regular dental care for her geriatric teeth.

Daisy
Daisy

Daisy is a 10 year old miniature mare. She came to us with some fears and behavior problems, and although she is improving, she is not up for adoption. Daisy is missing her left eye.

Lightfoot is a 12 year old Quarter Horse gelding that has ruptured gastrocnemius tendons caused by a thyroid imbalance. Upon arrival in August 2007, Lightfoot was reluctant to move and was in extreme pain. Lightfoot will be wearing special shoes and receiving supplements, but will have a happy, pain- free life within the next 6 months. Lightfoot cannot be ridden by anyone over 40#, so will stay at Horse-Angels for visitors to brush, love, and learn from Lightfoot’s experiences.  See what Lightfoot looks like now (on right); picture taken January 2008!
